Jan combines a master’s degree in Applied Economic Sciences (UFSIA, Antwerp University) with over 25 years of experience in executive search and human resources consultancy. He is also certified Leadership Coach from the Oxford Management Centre.

He started his career at Schelstraete & Desmedt Executive Search, where he became Client Manager. In that function, he supported many clients in attracting and assessing key leadership talent, enhancing professional executive search and management assessment methodologies. After 13 years he joined MenT Associates, where he managed the Ghent office for 3 years as Branch Manager. In 2011 he joined Altior Executive Search as a Partner. Jan’s main sector expertise is the industry and manufacturing, FMCG and food sector. He specialises in family owned companies and more specifically in CEO succession.

Jan is also a guest lecturer in HR Management at Ghent University, and trainer for leadership topics. He was also member of several jury panels for leadership positions in the public sector.
